Meet Our Tasting Room Staff

The tasting room at Wellington Vineyards, features a small-but unique staff who do almost anything to make your visit a memorable one. You might bump into Toby, Peter or Dave, but most likely will always run into Jon, Jannis or John.

Jon Carmer

A frequent winner of our prestigous EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH AWARD, Jon is a 4th generation Sonoman who has lived in many places due to his father's military career. Jon has many business interests in the Southeast, which include drycleaning, textiles & timber. Jon returned to Sonoma in 2001, to support his aging parents. Wellington welcomed Jon in 2002, and after getting bit by the wine bug, it has been hard to get rid of him!

Jannis Fekete

Wellington's resident horticulturist, Jannis is a ray of sunshine in our tasting room. A native Californian, her youth was spent body surfing and competing in horse shows in Orange County. Jannis spent many years as an historic tour guide at a century old winery in Russian River Valley. Jannis possesses a wonderfully warm and welcoming personality, which will make you intoxicated in her presence.

John Field

A retired high school English teacher, John and his wife Mary moved from San Francisco to Glen Ellen thirty-four years ago, and have two daughters and five grandsons. John enjoys listening to music, swimming, hiking, reading novels and especially sampling a glass or two of Sonoma County Cabernet, Zin or Syrah with dinner each evening. His current favorite is Wellington's Bordeaux blend, Victory. He has been pouring in Wellington's tasting room for the past ten years. "It's a great part-time job," he says, "because everyone who visits us is in a good mood and will be in an even better mood after they have tasted our big reds, smooth whites and prize-winning ports."
